The Germany women’s national team will begin World Cup Qualifying without a key player in Bayern Munich’s Klara Bühl.
Via FCBayern.com, the star winger suffered a “muscle injury” during training over the weekend and as a result has left the national team camp for further evaluation back at Bayern.

Her seven goals and 13 assists in the league exactly matches her output from all of last season already — in five fewer 90s — and she has another goal and eight assists in this year’s Women’s Champions League.
FC Barcelona came in heavy for Bühl last summer and should be expected to make another approach sooner than later. The Bavarians would be overjoyed to be able to hold onto their superstar, but if not, it could be the final few months we Bühl in a Bayern jersey.
Germany takes on Slovenia on Tuesday at 11:45 AM EST.
