STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) — Georgia Southern women’s basketball hosted a net-cutting ceremony at the Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center to celebrate its Sun Belt regular season title Monday.

The Lady Eagles finished the season 23-6 overall, and 16-2 in conference play.

At the beginning of the season, coaches and SIDs predicted Georgia Southern to finish 10th in the Sun Belt.

It’s only Georgia Southern’s second season with head coach Hana Haden at the helm, who won this years’ Sun Belt coach of the year.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to coach a lot of amazing young women,” said Haden. “But years like this are really special when it all comes together.”

The Lady Eagles will begin the Sun Belt tournament on March 8, with their opponent to be determined.
