ELSIE, Mich. (WLNS) – On the opening night of the district tournament at Ovid-Elsie, the host Marauders advanced with a 51-32 win over Chesaning and Ithaca advanced with a 41-34 win over St. Louis.

Libby Maurer led the way for Ithaca with 12 points. Emma Pavlik led St. Louis with 13 points.
The win avenges the Yellowjackets’ 53-52 loss to St. Louis less than two weeks ago. They advance to face Pewamo-Westphalia in the district semifinals on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Ovid-Elsie High School.
In the second game of the night, Mid-Michigan Activities Conference rivals Ovid-Elsie and Chesaning squared off for the third time. The Marauders won the first two meetings in the regular season.

However, Ovid-Elsie reeled off a 15-0 run over the next 6:21 of game time to pull away.
Alyson Moore led the Marauders with 20 points and Kendal Tokar chipped in 16.
Tithof led Chesaning with 15 points.
Ovid-Elsie advances to face Hemlock in the district semifinals on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Ovid-Elsie High School.
