Four going to this weekend’s state tournament
It wasn’t just high school wrestlers that dominated the mat this winter.
Middle school wrestlers from Astoria, Seaside, Warrenton and Knappa took part in the Northern Region Middle School Tournament on Saturday, March 7. Clatsop County had four wrestlers qualify for this weekend’s state tournament.

Minami Myers of Knappa Middle School and Leah Dugan of Astoria Middle School were the girl qualifiers. For the boys it was Hudson Allen of Astoria Middle School and Abe Gerber of Seaside Middle School.
Myers finished second in the girls 110-pound division and Dugan finished second in the girls 135-pound division.
In the boys category, Allen finished second in the 150-pounds division and Gerber took first place in the 175-pound weight class.
All four of these wrestlers will travel to West Albany High School for the state meet.
